Quick start

1. Press POWER — on the set, or on the remote.
2. Pick a channel, any channel. That’s it — the video starts playing right away. You don’t have to press play.

Tune in any way you like: turn the dial, use the remote, or tap a listing under the set. If no channel is on, the set waits on its standby picture: the chief over the cornfield.

The channel dial

• Turn the big dial to change channels: click it, scroll on it, or drag it around. It has 13 stops — CH 1 to 13. Straight up is the resting spot.
• The VOLUME knob really works. It’s marked 0 to 10, all the way around in one full turn, and it starts at 5. Drag it or scroll on it to turn it. On a keyboard: click the knob first, then the arrow keys move it half a step at a time — Home is 0 and End is 10. Click the knob to mute it; click it again and the sound comes back at the level you left. Your level stays the same when you change channels. (On an iPhone, the phone’s own volume buttons are in charge — that’s Apple’s rule, not the set’s.)
• Every channel works. All 13 channels have a music video — pick any one and it plays.

The remote

• It’s alive: hold your mouse over the remote and it buzzes three times, quick, with a soft pink glow. That’s its way of saying it’s a real remote — press its buttons. It also has a pink “👇 Try me!” sticker on it; the sticker goes away the first time you use the remote.
• CH 1–3 buttons jump straight to that channel. The ▲ / ▼ buttons move one channel at a time — up goes higher, down goes lower, and they wrap around at the ends.
• The song pad shows 4 channels at a time, and it follows the channel you’re on: tune to CH 5 and the pad reads 5 · 6 · 7 · 8; CH 9 shows 9–12; CH 13 sits on its own. The listings under the set move in the same groups.
• FLOAT OVER THE SET puts the remote on top of the picture, pointed at the screen — its little light blinks every time you press a button. To move it, drag it by any part that isn’t a button. It stays where you drop it, and it still works there.
• Make it bigger or smaller with the corner grip, the − / + buttons, or the arrow keys when the grip is selected. Double-click the grip to put it back to normal size.
• COLLAPSE shrinks the remote to a tiny one asleep on top of the cabinet — click the tiny one to wake it up. DOCK IT puts it back under the set.
